175 two stroke stumbles on acceleration.

I've just experienced the same issue with my 90 3cyl 2 stroke. Upon acceleration it was misfiring badly and barely made it above 3500rpm. Once on WOT and above 4000 rpm the motor seemed to run sweet. Fuel pump pulled and discovered diaphragm torn and leaking.

Once replaced it run sweet. This should be the first thing to check when experiencing these symptoms. Cheap and quick fix as it's only 2 bolts to remove. Carb strip should be left out untill this has been checked.
