Where can I find out what the gap between the sensor and flywheel is?

    Thanks

It might help if you posted what sensor you speak of

Well, I'm not sure what it's called. It fires a spark I think when a little notch on the flywheel passes it. It's about 3/4" square and has B8 printed on it.

Maybe Pulsar coil?? Should put out about 3.5 volts when cranking.. Air gap..not sure but .05 looks like a good starting point if its even adjustable

                  LOL^^

tmann45, I asked because I couldn't find your exact model # under the parts site above. That usually means the engine isn't from / in the US.

Did you find the part in question on the link I posted?

typically the CPS is about .020".
typically on a Yamaha its NOT adjustable anyway.

It's the pulser coil. I'm in the US bought the motor new in 2000 it's a 1999 60 hp C 60tlry OR tlrx not sure marks are old and faded.

Motor won't accelerate well. Fuel system is all new tank, hoses, filters, 10 micron filter, and carbs professionally cleaned. New fuel.

ring free and stabil since 2000

Starts well, idles well no missing, accelerate and it bogs down, but doesn't die. runs at 1500 rpm smoothly

When it starts to bog down have someone mist a spritz of gasoline into the air intake system. If it picks up and runs then you will know that it is fuel related.

Have you tested compression, spark, and timing to make sure all of that is OK and in spec?

Oh yea, it would be good to use a premix of gas and oil to spritz into the carbs as Bosceo suggests if all else is good to go

I know you posted the carbs were professionally cleaned but it sounds like a clogged or partially clogged main jet.

The spritz of fuel when running should verify this...

To check/clean those main jets is not difficult.. Being butterfly chokes is even a little easier

                            http://www.boats.net/parts/search/Ya...TOR/parts.html

For S&G's, and its very easy to do, on each carb bowl is a drain bolt(part #17). Pull that bolt out on each carb and catch what fuel comes out. Your looking for any debris/water, etc. I use a small, CLEAN tuna fish can. If need be, prime the primer bulb to flush fresh gas thru the carb..

If using ethonol, it tends to break down older fuel line. I've personally experianced 3/8 "Mercury Marine" fuel line break down. The innerds turned to mush, literally. All you need is a small piece of that clogging a jet to cause your issue..

I cannot find a gap setting and as noted, don't think that it is adjustable anyway. The manuals specify checking the output of the device. See below
