  • yamaha 150 four stroke codes

When I turn the key to the on position it will beep twice and then a long beep. Does anyone know what this code means or where I can find a codes list?

          its not a code
          its working normally.
when either key is turned on the system self tests.
on a yamaha its the only time they self test.
its part of the DES assy on the keyswitch assy.
          go enjoy the boat.
if it wont do it or only does it when one key is on suspect a possible horn failure.
          there are two alarm horns.

why did you not state that first?
then I could have sold you an altenator.
why not tell us what it did and when.
saves time chasing ghosts and I type slow.

                    no
I am saying getting usefull information from you is like pullin hens teeth.
why dont we start kinda like this.
hi, my name is so and so.
I have single/twin yamaha F150*** model number on *** hull rigged with ***X guage package.
the other day, last year, whatever, my engine quit,(here would be some good placesto add details).
when I turn on the key the engine self tests(twins only) correctly.
now does it crank over when the key is turned to start?
do you get an alarm WHILE its cranking?
does it NOT crank over at all?
it took you 4 posts to mention it quit running, sometimes
but when you turn either key to on it will self test via the DES switch assy.
so give us some detail, the more the better.

Ok i get it you need more info. Alright i have a 26 foot Proline with twin 150 2008 yamaha fourstrokes. I was up and running when the starboard engine shook and then just quit. It will turn over but will not crank i have checked the fuel water seperator and it had a little water, When i turn the port engine key switch on it does not beep but the starboard beeps three times. When i am turning it over the beeping will stop but it still will not crank. I hope this is enough info.

From what Rodbolt said the beeping in normal, but the one that does not has the problem, like he said maybe the horn(buzzer) is bad on that one.

Have you checked the one that will not start for spark with a spark tester?

I am not sure if this thing is set up with man overboard type of safety switches or not but that would be the 1st thing to check if there is no spark.

If it has spark check the fuel pressures to see if pumps and filters have problems
