hello, I have a 2005 F9.9 MLHD that I use as my kicker. In order to utilize its charging system, I believe I need to install the 6G8-81960-A1-00 RECTIFIER & REGULATOR ASSY. Do I need any other parts to complete this project? If so, a parts list would be appreciated. Also, if there is a printed instruction sheet available, that would be most helpful. You would also need mounting bracket, number 25-34 in this diagram Yamaha Outboard Parts 2005 F9.9MLHD ELECTRICAL 1 Diagram
You would need to run a wire from red wire on rectifier to positive post on battery and install a 10amp inline fuse. Run a wire from engine block ground to negitive post on battery and connect rectifier leads to stator wires on engine.
