Could anyone please give me some advice on the correct procedure to touch up the paintwork on my Yamaha 90 Hp AETO outboard ?
I just bought a 2000 year model 90 Hp Yamaha outboard, it is in very good
condition , but there is one small scratch on the cowling cover ,but more
importantly there is a patch of paint ( about 30mm x 40mm big ) where you
can see the lightblue primer , I'm a little concerned , so before corrosion sets in I want to paint the affected area . I bought the Genuine Yamaha Grey Metallic touch up paint . It is just below where the lower leg bolts onto the
main part of the engine ! It's not a scratch ,looks like the paint did'nt adhere properly when they painted the motor at the factory . Should I lightly waterpaper the area ( 1000 grit) and Spray ,let it dry naturally or say use a
electric heat gun to bake between coats !
Many thanks !
P.s Very nice Yamaha Forum !
