I have a T9.9EXRY that I'd like to be able to more quickly start when the battery is dead. Yes, I know I should not let the battery get so low, but it's a racing sailboat with a small battery and several times I've run it down, usually with the autopilot. I generally don't detect the situation until I want to start the motor NOW, and that involves crawling back to it and opening it up for the rope start -- something that's a bit dicey in rough weather.
I'd like to maintain the electric start for normal use, but can anyone tell me whether it is possible to mount a manual-start cowling with the recoil mechanism and also some attachment to the flywheel so that I can have the best of both worlds?
Thanks for your advice.
Paul
