water pump rebuild

Hi, I want to replace the water pump on my 1998 Yamaha c150x outboard and I am wondering if I need to get the factory manuals for specific instructions.
I have done it before on a 115 evinrude(1980) but do not know if the Yamahas are more complicated.
I have the Clymer manual for it.
