Backfires and stops

Hello,1987 115 hp I have been messing with the carb and sync. the motor starts and runs for seconds than backfires and stops. Any ideas what I messed up? It will start up again and than doe's the same thing.

Sounds like carb problems running to lean or not synced properly. Hard to tell, no idea what motor you have with out the model #.
