Pilot Tube and water pump need help

Hello, I'm working on a 115 hp ,today I am taking the lower end apart to check the water pump because I had no water stream at the outlet . Looks OK to me. I noticed that the pilot tube was disconnected . What is the function of the pilot tube? Also what direction do the impeller tangs go on a motor with a clockwise prop direction. Thanks

i Have the same problem. Have you had been able to find the reason that there is no steam from the pilot discharge hole? Thanks.
