Speed Omature Port

I have read most of my owner's manual and it had mention a few times about the speedometer, if equipped, but never told anything about how it worked. This afternoon I noticed what I thought was a small ding or possible bug smash on the front of the foot. Looking closer it was a small brass tube opening in the sharp edge of the leading edge of the foot. Could this be a port that picks up water pressure for the speedomter? Slick! Just thought others may not know what that is. Is it?

Yes the small hole is the speedo pickup, it works on water pressure.
