2002 90TLRA Premix Ratio ?
I have a second hand 02 Yamaha 90 with the precision mix system removed. What would the correct fuel/oil ratio need to be for optimal performance?
The manual calls for 50:1 during break in. I feel like this is to purposely run the engine in a rich condition just to be on the safe side. My local Yamaha dealer suggested that with the oil injection system removed I should just run it 50:1. Starting with new NGK (B8HS-10) plugs I ran the engine approximately 30hours @ 50:1 and pulled them for inspection. In my opinion they tell me the engine is running just a tad bit rich. I just wanted to get a second opinion to verify that 50:1 is NOT to much on the rich side.
