hot motor

my 1990 model yamaha 70 hp motor sounded the alarm after running about 15 minutes wide open twice but the water is running with a good stream out the side of the motor. could it be the water pump cause I haven't replaced it in 2 years. the oil level is full.

replace pump, housing and stats... as regular maintenance.
