I have been struggling with adding a rectifier to an 07/08 9.9 fourstroke which I have added as a kicker/*****ing motor. What should be a simple plug in and connect affair has turned into a bit of a head scratcher. I have connected the two rectifier charging leads to the stator charge wire leads installed the engine ground, run the leads to the battery and installed them on the appropriate posts. I am not getting any output from the rectifier. I have double checked all connections, grounds and the fuse. All are ok. My questions are these....
What P/N rectifier should I have for this year/model
What A/C voltage should I have from the stator with the engine running.
What diode check or resistance checks can I perform on the rectifier unit to ensure it is not faulty.
What should I expect to see as an output in terms of voltage and amperage from this unit?
Thanks in advance
