1994 115TLRS Fuel Issue

Had my 1994 115TLRS in the yamaha dealer to check a starting problem. Nothing found but the tech did mention that fuel should have been in the carb longer than a day. Is this potentially a leak in the carb bowl? Any thoughts or suggestions?
