Replacing steering bracket

Can anyone help me with this dilemma?

I am trying to replace the old rusted steering bracket from my 1983/4 Yamaha 50DR.

No matter how much I try to knock it out, it wont budge.Is there a special procedure to follow ?

I noticed after removing the clip underside, the shaft seems to be splined.

Anyone with valuble advice please........

You are probably going to have to use heat to remove it.
