I have a 2005 F115 TLRD with 117 hours. I have a rumbling coming from the lower unit when I tore down the lower unit I found the pinion shimmed to a total amount of .75mm from what I have read in the service manual and calculated this should be .97mm. additionally on the reverse shim the total value was .80mm the calculated should have been 1.79mm. The factory stamped numbers on the lower unit are F+07, R+01 and P-03
So should I just go back with the shims I found when disassembling the unit or shim it to what I have calculated? Additionally I have found no bad bearings or anything else in the lower unit to suggest where the rumbling was coming from
I don’t know if any other repairs were ever done on this unit by someone else or not.
