704 Remote Control Pitted Handle

I have a older 704 binnacle remote control that is in perfect condition, except for the handle which is covered with ugly, tiny bumps from exposure to salt water. Are there any replacement handles available that won't do the same thing, different materials, finish? Before I spend $100, i'd like to know it will last more than a couple of seasons. How about something to refinish my old handle with?

if it bothers you that much, why not just sand it doen smooth and put a coat of clear lacquer on it, like you might do to a wooden boat? good luck!

they should last at least 10 yrs before pitting, go with new unless you think you will be happy with a paint job.
