no water circulation: 1990 8 hp. Yammy

- just put new impeller kit, slightly confused bou which goes on top
(discrepancy between shop manual & parts diagram )
paper gasket or metal plate ?
- the motor is missing the "shim anode " which is located on the underneath of cavitation plate, will this mess w/ impeller action ?
I have both air//water thru water pie up and both come thru "peehole "
- have removed questionable thermostat so that should not be hindering flow
AND YES- new parts have been ordered for all mentioned
SPENT HALF MY WEEKEND ON THIS AND STILL NO RESULTS !!!!

Some of the older ones used a gasket on top of wear plate but the newer ones do have that gasket.

not really sure I understand though.
the kit came w/both metal plate & greenish "paper gasket"
unclear whether gasket goes on top of oil housing
or -on top of metal wear plate ?

ps.--- have found out my likely problem, was bucket not deep enough !
duh !- will try deeper bucket, when I have energy after work.......
