Hello.I have a boat that is equiped with a 40 hp 2 stroke gasoline YAMAHA engine.It has always runned perfectly until the last time I ran it.Usually here in Portugal after we use it ( at the sea )we make the engine run in a tank of fresh water. There is a tank for 2 stroke engines and one for 4 stroke engines.I don't know the difference between them.Unfortunatly last time I used it i ran it on the 4stroke tank and now the engine seem to have no force and doesn't have a stable running.It gags all the time.Can you help me? Start with the basics, check compression, ignition spark, condition of spark plugs, drain gas out of carbs and check for water. -
Did you use gas that is usually used for 4 strokes? Cause it does not have oil mixed in it, it will make the engine burn up.
Unless you have an oil injected 2 stroke, that is.Comment
