yamaha wont pass 3000 rpm

I'm having a small problem that it wont go over 2800 rpms on a Yamaha 150 I-4 4 stroke. We put the computer to it and no codes came up. It revs fine on the garden hose and idles perfect but once you put in gear and WOT it goes up to 3k but then suddenly drops down to 2800. Thanks
