Tach for F30

I have a 2007 F30 being delivered and want to install a tach and hour meter. The Yamaha Eng-Meter-4C-02 tach looks perfect but similar inexpensive meters state they only work on one or two cylinder engines and some four strokes.
What say you?

It will only work on 4 stroke engines and yes it will work on F30 engine.
