lower unit grease

Greetings All,
I just drained and refilled my lower unit on my Twin F115 motors. When I pulled the plug on one of the motors a black grease drained out. Should I be concerned? The other one was a normal or clear in color. Any help would be greatfull since fishing season is just around the corner here in Alaska.

If it smells burnt then probably a problem in gearcase.
