I do not have an inductive tachometer, but, I do have an old dwell tach which was used to connect to the coil of a motor. I need to connect the old style dwell tach (just to read the RPM's) on my Yamaha 60TLRB four stroke engine. How and where should the connections be made for an accurate RPM reading?

Unless it has setting for alternator driven tach signal, 6 pole alternator it wont work on that motor.
