704 (single) remote adjustment

My engine (ProV150) won't reach full throttle. When I adjust the cable linkage at the engine so that it will reach full throttle then the idle rpm's are too high. Is there an adjustment inside the 704 remote control?

No, the cable may need to be replaced it will get worn and stretch out and there will be loose motion.

The Cable is new. But the control is actually a Premium Flush side mount part# 6x0-48206-12-00. It has more precise control than the 704. Would this control have an adjustment and/or is it compatable with a 1992 ProV150?
