Yamaha Digital Gauges

My 2000 Pathfinder and C115 Yamaha came with digital gauges - kit # 6YR-W0035-47, with the digital speed gauge #6Y5-83570-S4. The speed gauge, on power up, defaults to the "trip" reading at the bottom of the gauge. To get the gauge to give me the "volts" reading, I have to push the mode button twice. Since I do not care about the "trip" or "time" readout, how can I get the gauge to read "volts" on power-up, without having to bump the mode switch every time I start the motor? Are there jumper wires or dip switches at the back of the gauge for the default readout at power-up?

No there's no way that I know of to get it to start up in battery mode
