Tilt valve assy. blowing out when tilting down
1984 Yamaha 90 trim/tilt blowing out valve assembly and snap ring when tilting down. It was fine one minute and not the next. Anybody seen this before?

No I haven't. The manual release valve is threaded as well as having the snap ring, unless housing or valve is severly worn not sure how it would blow out. -
figgered it out
The trim and tilt was low on fluid and got "air locked". I filled it, capped it, lowered it by hand, raised it by hand, repeated and then it began working. Had a trim cylinder leaking, rebuilt that and all is well now.
