mercury 150 cutting out

I have a 1986 150 Mercury outbroad engine that runs fine at idle and at low speeds, but when I give it the gas it run great for awhile, 2 to 3 minutes. Then it cuts out. I then pump the ball on the tank and it runs fine for 2 or 3 minutes. This does not happen every time I go out. I checked all the gas hoses and fuel pump. Any suggestions?

Could be a fuel restriction, try running on different gas tank.
