F90tlr Gauge Harness Color Coding

Wondering What The Color Coding Is For The 4 Wire Harness From The Yamaha Outboard?

Pink
Gray
Green
Green/red

Also The Tach Says That I Have To Know The Number Of Poles Form My Alternator To Set The Dial On The Tach 1-5?????? Any Ideas??

Wire colors will be different on motor and colors on Trim/Oil harness will be different than connector on engine and connector on gauge, so unless you know serial and model of engine, part number of trim/oil harness and part number of gauge there is no way of identifing colors.It sounds like you are using an aftermarket tach, if you are then it will not have trim gauge or warning lights so it would not use any of the wire colors you mentioned, it would connect to key switch using green(tach signal), yellow(key on power) and black(ground) wires. That engine has a 12 pole alternator.
