Simple Question - I hope...

First time boat owner here - thanks in advance for your patience and your help! Maybe somebody on this forum can help me out with what I hope is a simple question. I'm a new owner of a used '93 55hp Yamaha outboard and I can't seem to find any info on the oil-to-gas ratio mix for feuling it properly... Anyone know the answer or where I might find a source w/ the info? Right now the best I got is a buddy who "thinks" it's 50 - 1 but I'd rather know, if you know what I mean. There's no manual w/ the motor, but it seems like that kind of info ought to be stamped somewhere on the thing - I'm probably looking right past it.

I "think" all 2 strokes are 50:1. I am "sure" that every one I have ever owned, including my John Deer weed whacker, has been 50:1.

Yeah, Italked to my local repair guy - again - and he said it's 50 - 1, and then sold me some "high quality" two stroke oil... Not too high priced for a little quality advice!
