yamaha multifunction tachometer

just purchased a 2008 50 four stroke yamaha, already have a digital tachometer, #6y8-8350t-01-00,has 2 4 wire plug in's and 4 bullet connector wires, black,yellow,blue, green. can some one tell me if this will work on new moter which has 1 connector. the 4 single wires go to my tiller handle.thanks for any help

The part number you listed is for a Command Link square tach which wouldn't have wires, but the decription sounds like the multifunction tach and will work. You would need the electrical harness.

the tachometer I have is the round type, not the square one.a harness came with the new multifunction tiller handle,which I plugged in, black, yellow, blue, green. I have pwer to tachometer, trim guage works, what is the adaptor harness you said I needed, and where does this plug into.

The adapter would plug into the 2 square multi connectors on tach and into trim/oil harness to convert from one connector to the 2 connectors on gauge.

If you happen to be a pickup operator, you realize the benefits and advantage of the bed of that vehicle. The only problem is that after a few seasons of use, the pickup bed floors and sides will begin to display their age much faster than the rest of the pickup. Dings, scratches, and dents will sooner or later appear... making the pick up truck look much older than it really is - and a lot more importantly - will minimize the value of the passenger truck.
We had the same predicament, a amazing truck - before you opened the tailgate. The bed was nicked up pretty bad and it certainly took away the good looks of the vehicle.

There are a handful of possibilities available to rectify that scenario... a spray-in pickup bed liner, a drop-in pickup bed liner, or a full bed liner product. All 3 options have their advantages and cons, but in this write-up I'm going to talk about the benefits of the DualLiner cargo area protection system. The manufacturers of DualLiner provided one of their pickup bed liner systems to us to put on a 2004 Dodge Ram passenger truck. The first thing we discovered was how it was packed and processed and dispatched to the residence. Everything you really need is in one simple and easy to manage parcel, and it was mailed right to the doorway. No making appointments or sitting in line required.

The package is made up of five elements... a front bed wall liner, two side wall liners, a tail gate liner, and a heavy duty, 3/8" thick rubber floor mat.

Comprehensive installation instructions are supplied with the package, and the step-by-step procedure made it very uncomplicated. Total installation time is a lot less than 30 minutes, and can be done by just one man or woman. The only instruments needed are a #40 and #27 Torx Driver; a ¼" drill bit, and drill.











The first stage is to take out the four cargo handles within the Dodge Ram's bed. We also swept out a few pieces of debris to make certain that no further wear and tear could occur to the pickup bed. The front cargo area liner went on first, and just tucked over the top front rail of the cargo area. Next were the two side pieces... make sure the upper edge of the liner is inserted beneath the cargo area rails. The front and side pieces are anchored together with four friction-fit tabs (commonly referred to as push-in automotive fasteners). We then re-installed the four cargo grips, which in turn entirely anchored the side panels. The fact that the top of the side panels tuck directly below the cargo area rails gave the install a very fresh and clean look.

The next stage is to fit the tailgate liner to the tailgate. Pull off the factory Torx anchoring screws that hold down the access panel. Place the liner on the tail gate... the pre-drilled openings in the liner match up flawlessly with the factory openings. Re-install the Torx anchoring screws to the tail gate. There are four additional pre-drilled holes in the liner, which are found near the base of the tail gate. This is where you will want to drill four ¼" holes in the tail gate. The pack provides a tube of rust inhibitor... a tiny dab in each and every recently drilled hole will avert rust. The four holes are then blocked with more push-in motor vehicle fasteners.

The remaining step in the assembly is to place the 3/8" thick rubber mat on the cargo area. There are grooves in the bottom of the side panels to which the pad fits in for a excellent finished look.

So here you go - a before & after shot of the vehicle pickup bed... which one do you prefer?

The owner of the pickup is quite happy and suggested this was more than likely the least difficult way to mask an ancient cargo area and make the truck look great again. On a side note, I in reality had a DualLiner on my 2003 Dodge Ram pickup... when I sold the pickup three years later, the pickup bed liner appeared as excellent as the first day it was installed. I have this same tach (6Y5-8350T-82-00) installed new by the dealer as part of my F150 repower on a 21' Lund. The oil press and water temp warning lights do not come on when the ignition is switched on before starting. Is this normal or is there something missing? I also have the fuel mgt option with my speedo and everything else appears to work fine.
