I have just purchased a 2006 Glacier Bay with twin Yamaha 115 4 strokes. The motors were due for a 200hr inspection, prior to that the port motor overheat horn came on while idiling in the harbor, the motor was shut down immediately. The motors were taken to a approved Yamaha dealer and I was told that bothe motors impellers and housing were melted and it appeared the motors were run out of the water. A compression check was down and all cylinders were fine on both motors. My question to all experts is am I heading for a lifetime of maintenance issues or is this really not a big deal since all other items on the motor are fine. The tech's feel that once the housing and impellers are changed everything should be fine. Does anyone have any input? Should I sell the boat while I still have a chance of getting what I put into it? Thanks for your help....
