  • yamaha oil problem

My 86 yamahas leak oil out of the carbs when they are tilted up. Ive gone through putting paper towels under every hose over a period of weeks to look for the leaks. No problems with them other than this. The problem is that they eventually leak enough, to run oil into the water while sitting at the slip. Its environmentally unfriendly. This ever happen to anyone? thanks

my `86 pro v did the same...it is most probably the oil tank overflow on top, a small breather hose at the top of the tank. re route the hose to be at peak when trimmed up.

This happened to me on a 1989 225 V6 Excel. I just posted a more detailed description as a reply to a couple of other posts so look for posts by me. Short answer is that this could be a problem with the check valves in your oil pump (if they are so equipped).

it sounds like you have a problem with your engine mounted oil tank overfilling.
