Yamaha 115 Won't rev

I have a 115 four stroke circa 2006 that has been problematic recently.

To cut a long story short the digital gauge is saying check engine after changing the injectors, the engine won't rev beyond 4000 in gear. Is this a safety feature because it says check engine ? Or do I still have fuel starvation issues ??

Is there anything else I should do after changing injectors, I really just put them in and started it up and drove off.

Don't have YDS, is that the software and connection cable diagnostic program, will order I think. I changed out the ecm and the check engine display went away and the engine goes good again.

Anyone no how to rid the ( now ) spare ecm of it's check engine message and rev limit ??
