i have a 94 200 pro v... recently the tach display failed so i replaced the tach and a speedo with a newer version...has a hour meter...i notice that the trim indicator on the guage would work but not correctly...will show about 1/3 up when completely down....thus it shows it is completely up (in the tilt mode) prior to it being completely up.... i have adjusted the sender at the motor bracket as much as possible...i can move the lever manually and get the guage to read correctly... any suggestion on a different sender and or settings on the guage......eventhough the correct trim position is not critcal i have found a different problem when the motor/guage thinks it is in the tilt position the oil transfer pump will not fill the oil tank under the cowling.... thus limiting the trim position i can run...any comments/suggestions

Check the position of the dip switches on the back of the gauge. Prior to 2001 they used a 3-wire system on the senders, make sure your first dip switch is in the 3-wire position (pre-2001), and not the 2-wire position (2001-present). Other than that there's a little adjustability at the sender mounting screws but not much. Its probably just the dip switch. The dip switches are 3-wire, 12-pole, and 2-stroke.

mike,
thanks for the comment...after numerous hours of research i came up with this information.... it worked it also appeared to solve the problem with the oil transfer pump .... again thanks for your response you were dead on with the solution... i wish some of these called outboard technicians woul do a little more research/reading.
thanks
