i have a 96' 250 hp saltwater series 2, how do you check the compresion?

Get a psi gauge that will screw in the spark plug hole and the bump over the motor read gauge then replace the spark plug then do the next one you will have to order/buy the gauge at a parts house try car stores like advances auto parts but you need to find out what the correct psi for each cylinder for your motor . oh ya and find out if the psi gauge will work for the amount of psi for your motor .
