  • Yamaha Steering Maintenance

I have a 2004 60hp Yamaha 4 stroke remote steering. I am trying to determine what maintenance to perform on steering rod assembly.
There are two zerk lube fittings on two nuckles thru which the steering tube goes on the engine. Are these for greasing the steering tube or are they part of the trim and tilt. If these fittings are not part of the steering, how does one grease the steering tube assembly?
Thanks in advance for your input.

grease those, tilt up motor to look for more on tilt tube and verticle turning tube. also take some grease left over on the tilt ram ends AND if you have it, the tilt sensor spring end/o-ring.
