  • Trim Gage NOT Working

I have a Skeeter SX190 with the yamaha 150. Last time out my trim gage stopped working but the trim system works fine. Does anyone have an idea where to start troubleshooting this? Also how often the a gage fail?

most likely the tilt tube mounted sensor has corrosion, use some lubricant to loosen, then grease to prevent reoccurence.

I have a 50HP with the same problem

      1. Where is the tilt tube located and what does it look like?

      2. Can WD-40 be used to lubricate the tilt tube?

      Thanks

I Had Same Problem On F225 ,spring Inside Of Switch Went Bad, Yami
Tech Said That Leaving Motor Trimed All The Way Down When Storing Puts Added Stress On Spring And Recomends Storing W/ Motor Not Trimed Fully Down But Tilted Up Towards Top Range Of Trim Movment

If you stored your motor tilted up here in northern Ohio the propeller hub of the lower unit would fill with water and freeze and maybe break something.

break it free with a light lube then load it up with a good grease.
