Avg. Life Expectancy of an F225?

With good maintenance (by the book) and freshwater flushing after each use in "clean" salt water, and infrequent (<5% of the time) running at W.O.T., what would you say might be the life expectancy of an F225? Before a rebuild or major component replacement is necessary...

3,000 hours? 4,000 hours? 5,000 hours?

At last years San Diego boat show, a Yamaha rep told me that "off the record" the 'Department of Homeland Security' is getting 10,000 hours on their engines.
He said that Yamaha doesn't want that information out because it may keep boaters from buying new enginers every so many years.

I haven't been able to verify, but the local dealer said that 6000 is not uncommon.
