My question is if it is safe to run my outboard (F40) with the “ears” attached to the lower unit water intake? When I flush the lower unit at home, no water comes out of the little hole in the upper unit. I want to make sure that I don’t damage the impeller. I understand that the only safe way to flush the impeller and lower unit, is to use those “ears”. Thanks, Gerhard

Make sure the flusher fits tight on lower unit, the gear housing is very narrow and the flusher will slide off water inlet screen letting water pump run dry.

if water from the spy does not exit e' better not to make to work the motor, with the caps not us they would have to be problems, controls the water capacity of the tube
