Tach gauge is always dim.

I have a problem with the digital tach gauge part number 6Y5-83500-T2-00 being always dim and almost unreadable. Anyone ever had the same problem and if so what was the fix besides replacing the gauge. Could it be a votage input or grond problem??

Check the voltage between black and yellow wire going to tach should have battery voltage. If voltage alright then gauge is bad.
