25hp 4 cycle yamaha wont accelerate

Bought a boat motor which had been sitting for a while.Cleaned the carb replaced the starter solenoid but still cannot get motor to accelerate it will now idle only Also replaced plugs etc Should I clean carb again Many thanks

Sounds like a fuel restriction or maybe a bad fuel pump. I would check the fuel tank vent and make sure all the fuel lines are clean. Did you clean the jets out when you did the carbs? My 70hp 2stroke did the same thing and i had to replace the fuel pump. Also wondering how old is the gas in the tank? Good Luck!

Thanks I have it running fine now.Used fuel stabilizer checked the fuel pump put in an additonal tight fuel filter and injector cleaner.
