weird mpg problem...

2000 yamaha hpdi 200 twin instal with fuel mngmt guages. the fuel management guage is connected to furuno chart plotter/gps. guages only work when stbd ignition is on. the only time the mpg meter shows anything but "0.0" is when the stbd ignition is on & stbd engine NOT running and the port engine is on and running. as soon as you "start" the stbd engine mpg goes to 0.0 and registers nothing but 0.0 no matter what gph is doing or where boat is going. gph sensors are fine. mgp's do register when boat is underway on the port engine. does someone have a wiring diagram that will show how to wire for guages on either ignition... i suspect a diode or two would be involved. has anyone run into this before?

Jim check that only the white wire from the FMS harness is connected to your GPS output wire (blue?). None of black or red wires from the FMS harness should be connected to anything. What's your email and I can send you the FMS documentation.
