1989 twin 200 one excessive oil use

I have twin 1989 200, one runs fine,while the other rpms vary 1000 excessive oil use and smokes. I would appreciate any help.

for the oil usage, check the oil linkage at the pump side and ensure the linkage stops at neutral on the stop set pin on pump.
fot the varying rpms, i would do a full service: clean and sync carbs,new plugs, fuel filters, fuel pumps, all as general preventative maintenance. nothing worse than burnin up a piston or cylinder due to lack of maint.
