Greetings fellow boaters:
after a helm pump failure on my hydralic teleflex seastar steering system, I decided to convert over to a mechanical system because of much lower price. my choice was the teleflex "safe-t-qc" unit which in its own advertising states that it is a complete unit. which is somewhat misleading also. its docs state that I will need some type of adapter from my specific motor manufacturer (yamaha)to complete the steering connection, but gives no specs. my motor is a an early 90's (not sure) 150 hp v6 outboard with power tilt / trim. does anyone know what these adapters are called and where they may be obtained? am learning BOAT stands for "break out another thousand". amen. thanks...
