Hello:
Can anyone tell me what would cause my digital gauge to stop showing the speed (mph). The mode switch shows battery, trip and time with no problem. Where spped would show is only a hypon (-)?
The tach oil and trim gauge is working fine.
Thanks for any suggestions.

PS at switch turn on all items appear for a few seconds as it should.

Ira,
Check the speedo pick-up hole at the leading edge of the lower unit - could be clogged up. Take a small drill bit and gently clean it out by hand.
Also, check the speedo hose connection both at the lower unit and in front of the steering tube where the hose breaks out of the harness - connection could be bad, loose/broken tie wrap or split hose.

Ken's right. It could have come off a tubing fitting in the lower unit...
