yamaha 3.5a outboard engine air cooled

I've just bought an outboard from e-bay & unfortunately it did not come with an owners manual.
Please if possible, would you advise me on where to get one.
I've tried internet searches, but obviously have been searching in the wrong areas.
It has been resprayed and the nuts are breaking off! part of the engine has rusted through (you could poke your finger through it!)
so i need to replace parts and need to identify & order new.
any help would be appreciated.

there should be a serial number stamped on it somewhere - if you can find this (its prob stamped on a tag on the transom fixing. Does it have a gear switch for neutral / forward and you swing the whole engine round for reverse? If you have the serial number then any yamaha dealership should be able to get spares if still available - you areright ther isnt much info on them on the net - there are 2 posts on here for them.

Thank you for your advise, i don't know about the reverse yet! but i'm sure i'll have fun finding out.
I will get the info you advised and will contact yamaha dealers for help.
