  • Camshaft differences V6 200HP

Can anyone tell something about any difference between a V6 200HP crankshaft partnumber 6G511411 0X00 (96-99 ) and an earlier version 6R311411 0X00 (1990-1995) Other then the tapper size (smallest diameter , it looks it fit's in My engine. I'm willing to enlarge my flywheel fitting but not sure about timing and other specific details. Hope anyone can help!

6G5-11411-XX-XX is a crank shaft. For a two stroke motor. Two stroke motors do not use cam shafts, except for HPDI high pressure fuel pumps.

The first 6G5 crank shaft available was part number 6G5-11411-00-00. The -00-00 was replaced by the -01-00. the -01-00 was replaced by the -02-00. The -02-00 is the replacement part for either a -00-00 or a -01-00.

A 6G5 crank shaft and a 6R3 crank shaft are not interchangeable. If you are looking for the specific differences between a Yam V6 small taper crank shaft and a medium taper crank shaft the only suggestion I can think of is to contact a company such as Chris Carson Marine or Hydrotec. Either company is readily approachable. They may either know of a modification that can be performed to swap crank shafts or they may tell you it is not economically viable.
