Yamaha LF225 2003 (head bolt/camshaft bolt torque in foot lbs.)

Looking for torque specs for head bolts and camshaft bolts. Any help is appreciated. Thank You, Brian (Knoxville, TN)

First, know that it is pound feet, not foot pounds.

Anyway, the torque values are as follows:

    M10 Cylinder head bolts
    - 14 pound feet
    - 27 pound feet
    - 90 degrees

    M8 Cylinder head bolts
    - 10 pound feet
    - 20 pound feet

In the order that is specified in the service manual.

    M7 Cam shaft cap bolts
    - 5.8 pound feet
    - 12 pound feet

Definitely in the order that is specified in the service manual.

This is something that I would never ever attempt without having the service manual at hand. And after having read it two, three, maybe more times. I hate the sound of a cam shaft breaking. It is not so much objectionable from a noise stand point as from a cost stand point.

having never broken a cam,yet but I have heard them break.
it is a fairly quiet "TINK".
no Yamaha does not cover tech mistakes.

that is also why the new v6/v8 powerheads when replaced under warrenty come as long blocks.
to many tech issues when they simply sent two head assy's and a short block.
