  • Cylinder head torque specs vf225

I was going to take my boat out but water is coming out of port side cylinder head. I changed the spark plugs and water is still coming out. I think it might be the cylinder head but I need the torque specs. One problem with this engine has dual overhead cams with variable valve timing. If you can help, have a website or something that would be great. I know it's the day before the 4th of July and I need it fixed for the Blue Angels in Pensacola in 4 days.

The SHO has variable cam shaft timing. Not variable valve timing.

How would changing spark plugs affect a leaking cylinder head?

    Torque values are

    M11 bolts
    - first turn to 28.8 pound feet
    - second turn 90 degrees.
    - third turn 90 degrees.

    M8 bolts
    - first turn to 10.3 pound feet
    - second turn to 20.7 pound feet

it is not a job for the amerture.
however if you do attempt it buy the correct Yamaha service manual and study it.
not only do the valves not clear the pistons they don't clear each other.
