Are you sure that is the isolator lead? Can you trace it back to the fuse/relay panel?

I can check again tomorrow- red wire plugged into a metal holding bracket (just to hold it) its 6 gauge red wire- only wire that is that heavy- I can see and it goes in behind the 60A fuse box labeled isolater- but will trace it down tomorrow and make dang sure. the metal bracket its slides into is just a metal clip- No wires to it and the plug has a rubber stopper in the end- that I took out for the pic..

        Thanks for any help

Glad I can post this to maybe help someone else.. I traced the wire back to the fuse block and it is the correct wire- If you look at the pics you can actually see the "CAP" on the plug-. Yes there is a protective cap on the plug from the motor- mine was glued/crimped on so it was not easy to get off - I used some heat to get it off- the cord is long enough from the fuse block to get it away from the motor- just have to loosen up some tie downs. Once you get the dang thing off the part number above is the correct part..

Thanks for all the help - great website!!

Aha. The light has been turned on.

It never dawned on me that I was looking at a photo of the cap that was on the connector. Stupid me. I shoulda known.

Got to put this one in the database for future reference.

Thanks for the feed back. It is how we all learn.

All good- I was able to finish all of it today- wired in the isolater and the new fuse block to get rid of all the inline fuses to the battery. Thanks for all the help from all.. Now next time I go out I will see what the motor is putting out on that battery?

Just for S&G I ran my motor in driveway and checked the lead with meter before connecting it. 14.4 volts. F150 btw.

The crank battery and the battery that the new isolater lead is connected to (house) are both reading 14.4v when running!!

I assume you have battery switch on 1 while checking?
